I tried windows not so long ago and couldn't run my program because the antivirus would always kick in.

Windows is not a very productive work platform.

You can very easily allow your program to run. Defender only warns you against using programs. It doesn't force you to stop them. Or, you could also disable it altogether.

It used to "quarantine" the binary all together.

reminds me of red star os' "antivirus"

which is why it shoulda been packed in tar.gz and launched from total commander from inside the archive so it wouldnt put it to quarantine

Stop making viruses then.

more info > allow to run
stop being a brainlet faggot and learn how to use the os

i cant tell if i like this feature or not as someone who does not use >windows
on one hand, security paranoia is always a good thing to see from the people who make your OS. even if it is just security theatre in the end and not real security, it feels nice. and it has probably stopped a couple normies from installing real malware before.
on the other hand, you know it only marked this as a risk because you didnt install it from the microsoft store and this is a psyop to get normies to say "oh my god FINE ill just go to the app store and get it, its less hassle" and conceded defeat.
real double edged sword, there.

What the hell were you running?
>Windows is not a very productive work platform.
No, its not. But not for that reason. Its just not structured well. Windows Defender has nothing to do with it.
Or you can just not use that garbage OS that is such a hassle and so prone to malware lmao
