Why I don't see any progress?

I've been doing calisthenics. I picked up a beginners routine because I've never done calisthenics before.

After the first 2 weeks I was able to do more reps but never been able to increase my reps max after that. I can only do like 6 pushups before my arms hurt badly and been stuck like this for at least 4 weeks now.

I rest at least 2 or 3 days between trainings and I consider myself to have a pretty rich diet so at this point idk what could I be doing wrong.

I'd appreciate any advice on this;

Take a 1-2 week break dont overthink it

how much do you rest inbetween sets? if you're training to failure (not being able to even finish the set) rest atleast for 2-4 minutes

>6 pushups
user…

try walking to circulate blood nutrients and waste after training and make sure you eat enough protein

When pushups, push with your palm not your whole hand, that activates the chest and you'll be able to do more reps

>Why I don't see any progress?
Because
>I've been doing calisthenics
Go to a gym.

at least 3 minutes, sometimes 5

you understand my frustration?
i mean 6 pushups per set but its still a very low number

Grease the Groove (GtG), do several sets of half your max rep count throughout the day every day (in your case, your max is 6 so you have to do sets of 3. Every now and then drop and do 3 pushups).
Also check your form, crappy form will cost you a lot of reps

focus on the contraction

Height and weight? Inb4 diet is too rich.

I actually went to a gym for 4 months. I wasnt getting the results I wanted
I could definitely lift and squat 70kg and i got muscle; but i wasnt getting functional strength or endurance so i decided to go for calisthenics; and im not going to pay a membership just to do calisthenics

1.76cm - 5'9.29
85kg - 187.393

oh, maybe this is something i could try; normally i use all the hand including fingertips. thanks!

this is quite an interesting method i did not heard of before. gonna start toda

Hey I think this works, my chest kinda hurts now. Thanks user!

Ok you're my height but A LOT bigger/higher bf%. When I was bulking all my calisthenics reps basically stagnated because I was putting muscle and fat on so fast. Compared to when I was younger and did lean gains or even recomp, I saw more rep gains there. If your bodyfat % is above 25% you're gimping your gains too due to testosterone suppression. Rather than eating more you want to do 1.5g protein per kg of bodyweight and go calorie deficit/maintenance if you're newbie and fat you can sustain gains till you hit 15% bf (roughly when abs come out).

i have a problem with pushups too. i can do like 25 in a row but keeping a month's routine of 200 pushups per day i got weird chest pain, which went away after 2 weeks but now i to them only occasionally.
Ppl throw about fancy numbers like 30-50 p/u in a row for a 5 to 8 rounds etc. I don't see how i would achieve such.
I have the same height as op but my weight is about 100kg. What do

Unless you weigh in at 80kg+, calisthenics is for twinks who secretly want to get topped.

>results I want
What a bitchy complaint, oh no I didnt deadlift 200kg and look like ronnie coleman after 3 weeks gym is useless.

Do your powerlifting and stfu

>i could definitely lift and squat 70 kg

i could do this without even going to the gym. literally anyone can do this if they weigh close to 70 kg. you dont need to go to the gym to do this
