Saturated fat is only healthy in small amounts and when it comes from plants. Your body needs the fiber from the plant to remove excess hormones, feed gut bacteria so they can digest your food for you, etc. Your body doesn't recognize fiber as a supplement as well so you only get about 10 to 20% use out of it. The fiber you would have to eat in supplement form to compensate would constipate you. If you eat saturated fat you're getting an insulin spike because the saturated fat you're eating breaks down in your cells and forms a waste that blocks insulin receptors from inside the cell. That's why if you see people eating carbs with seed oils or saturated fat heavy foods they get insulin spikes worse than if they just ate the carbs or even sometimes more carbs. Basically saturated fat is the main reason people get type 2 diabetes.
