Great excerise to finish off chest

I do them laying down with free weights. Great to finish of chest

For chest I just pause all my presses and do bench variations that don't have leg drive, like floor press with legs straight and Larsen press.

This machine broke at my gym and I'm still waiting for it to be fixed :(

I approve fly's and machine fly's like that allow your chest to do its job which is abduction if you can set it to where your chest is really stretched at the bottom expect big pumps and gains just be aware not all machine are built for your body not matter how you set them or try to rig it to work

Approved, great finisher exercise. You have to be extremely careless or an idiot to injure yourself on a pec fly (i.e. hyperextending heavy weight, not setting handle depth properly) .

Solid, but I do it with freeweights lying down. I aim for sets of 15-20 vs 10 on bench and dips.

How is ‘junk volume’ even a thing your muscles move the weight they grow and the rate they grow correlated perfectly with how much volume you do. Such broscience bollocks. Stop listening to internet salesmen you lift weight and grow it doesn’t matter which lift you do as long as you perform the lift correctly. You’re not a competing Olympic champion performing with perfect optimisation out of neccesity

Ive always wondered the hate towards fluff sets or "junk" sets.
The idea is that the first sets gives you the most gains and it ends up with diminishing returns.
My question is, whats the issue with diminishing returns?
If your 6th set gives you a little less gains compared to the 5th, so what? its still gains nontheless

I only use them for reverse flys. I think there are better isolation exercises for pecs.

I do cable flies after my presses. I am able to train a range of motion that not even dumbbell press provides.

If an exercise gives you a nasty pump, you are able to progress in it and get doms consistently without feeling it much in your joints it's a good exercise for hypertrophy.

Most people that do them don't have big/strong enough pectorals to really get much activation out of them and just fatigue their biceps and forearms now than anything.

Junk volume means that after certain amount of volume extra volume does nothing

After i do incline and flat dumbbell press, I do incline chest flies. Am i just hurting myself? I feel a great stretch inmy chest and front shoulders usually doing 20-25lb for 8-12 reps
