How come most people here seem to run PPL, when it is a linear program?
If you are training with enough intensity I don't think it is possible to train 6 times a week. Also after a few months there is no way to progress further in a linear style.
I think a beginner should stick to a 3 day full body LP routine, then switch to something like Madcow or Texas Method which has weekly progression. After that advanced programming becomes really goal specific. Maybe cookie cutters like 5/3/1 can be viable options.
Looking at all this it seems to me 6days/week is unnecessary for any natural lifter. A good program with 3-4 days a week in the gym can yield the same results.
I just maintain the weight if I failed the exercise. If I plateau I break through after 2, 3 sessions at most, but I don't do deloads. Have only been lifting for 4 months but so far it has worked, so why change anything? At the end of the day who cares about the most efficient routine after a certain threshold of efficieny? It's a time in the market beats timing the market type situation.

What is enough volume?

What ever tires you out and stresses your muscles. I like to do heavy compounds for 8-12 reps. Everything else is 15-25 reps. Every other week my gym partner and I lift until failure for our last set of whatever lift. Been doing that since December and I’ve been seeing some decent growth/definition. Gonna see where I’m at by June.
Nutrition wise, I only consume carbs(oatmeal) in the morning before lifting, everything after is just protein and vegetables/fruit.

This is pretty much what I've been doing for a year. Lost almost 50lbs. However I still can't do 2pl8 bench. I can rep 195x6 for 3 sets but if I go any higher I start to slow dramatically. And can't finish the set. My rest period between sets is probably about 2-3mins. Any advice user?

Increase rest period to 4-5 mins Bench twice a week. One day 3x5 or 5x5, 2 days later a day with higher reps. Then 3 days rest before the next 3x5/5x5 day

I'll try that. Thanks user!

Having pull day and leg day next to each other. Enjoy fucking up your back
You don’t need intensity to grow, only volume. Drop the ego compounds, nobody honesty cares about your 285 squat or 185 lb bench. PPL 6x a week with lots of volume is the best routine for looking good. Compounds not necessary due to the fatigue they produce, or at least periodize them every 8-12 weeks.
