I think it is good for re-read.
I really hated Shallan when I read the books but the voice acting in Graphic Audio really helped build her character. She is one of my favs now.

Given that a little over half of American adults read at an 8th grade level, I'd say it's fine.
As for something I'd like to see adapted, Black Company and or Old Man's war. Both could do well as XCOM styled tactics shooters. Also, even if it's manga/anime, World Trigger would also be great and is even in an e-sports arc so it's surprising there isn't anything.
