When I played Underrail, I wanted to avoid the classic "what I'd do" thing and started browsing the portraits. There was one that looked like an angry asian guy with a ponytail, and decided that I would play as some stereotypical abrasive asian that takes no shit from anyone.
Ended up with an unexpected run because every time I had to make a choice I went "what would Ya jin do?", and pick chocies I would not otherwise.
Enjoyed the shit out of that run and made it a staple of RPG playthroughs. It's really fun to actually roleplay as something unusual for yourself.
