Why did mario rpgs die while Xenoblade continues to get new games
>Alpharetarded
>Made a crossover with papershit
>It didn’t sell as good as LDT
>instead of holding the fuck on, they remade the first game
>it sold like shit but muh NX hype
>instead of holding the fuck on, they remade the fucking third game which the original was easy to get at the time
>only 3 copies sold worldwide
>bankruptcy
I wonder why
it fucking sucks that nintendo didn't buy studio and just do better management by themselves
>beat the superstar saga plus romhack
>try one partners in time difficulty hack
>softlocks in a tutorial 1.5 hours in
>find another difficulty hack
>the fag rewrote a bunch of dialogue
>he can barely speak english
>toad asking me if i like slice of life anime
>tedious random encounters taking like 4 minutes
fuck this i'll just play the game vanilla. it's supposed to be the hardest one in the series anyway right?
What pissed me off LDT did have hard mode difficulty… but you have to beat the game to unlock it
Like what the actual fuck
yeah, i hate when games do that. usually i have to hunt for a clear save online, but there's actually a save editor for dream team, so i'll just use that when i get to that game.
Alphadream fucking died and Intelligent Systems is hellbent on having Paper Mario be a shitty adventure game
Xenoblade is still alive and well because it's made up of four competently made RPGs and didn't tell it's players to fuck off and play a new genre
>he's a xenoblade fan
lmfao how embarrassing
Alphadream decided to make the game ugly. That's all. People didn't buy dream team, less people played Paper Jam and then they remade the first two games in an art style that looked shit. It's kind of bizzarre, as if they never noticed people hated it.
Alpha dream died OP
their last project was mobile game with with sony
He isn't talking just about alphadream, Paper Mario is also just a walking corpse now. Worst part is that the team used M&L as the escape goat to make PM stop being an RPG and now both series are just fucked
>hardest one
Is it? I don't remember having much trouble with it. It's kind of tedious sometimes with the switching between the adults and babies.
Only Superstar Saga and Inside Story were good. Partners, Dream Team and Paper Jam were a mix of mediocre and boring. I don't get why Nintendo staunchly refuses to make a new Paper Mario in the old turn based style. It's been like eighteen years since Thousand Year Door came out, no one would be bitching about the gameplay being recycled.
>the fag rewrote a bunch of dialogue
Reminds me of when some guy remade Ocarina of Time in Unity. People made fun of how shit it looked and how he put a grave for Etika into the game for some reason (and also Satoru Iwata was just standing around as an NPC in Kakariko), but at least these are still pretty standard cases of retardation and poor judgment calls.
What I didn't get was why they re-wrote the standard dialogue. They didn't really change the meanings of any lines, but they replaced every line of text with a paraphrase of the original, along with some added grammatical/spelling errors. Why!?? You'd have the original text open as you're remaking the game, so I don't understand why one would do that.
SSS sprites were so fucking good
The entire M&L rpg series should've been great, but it peaked at the first one and became more and more of a neverending tutorial.
It's fine without a story, so do we really need one?
The art till Dream Team was perfect. The full pixel 2D art fits so perfect. I like the bigger sprites, the shading is good but the 2D style is better for cartoony expressions.
still a massive missed opportunity to not put paper luigi in paper jam
he's the only one that talks out of the 4 and the battle mechanics would have been a bit more fleshed out
DT's style would've been neat as a one-off, instead it became the norm to the point that there's more games with it than without.
