I've not even once learned the Jecht Shot. The boat cutscene is always so confusing,since to me it's always already over before I feel I should start pressing buttons and I've always won the blitzball match. I don't even hide behind the goalkeeper. The most exciting match I've had was a 3 -2 victory.
Blitzball in general fucking sucks though.

I've looked up guides and they all say score a goal as soon as possible, then AFK behind your net with the ball as the AI can't go there. Doesn't help there are 500 tutorials in a long list

Is there any point in Blitzball after the story match? Do I win team members or weapons/armour or is it just a phoenix down or something

Wakka's overdrives and ultimate weapon (which happen to be the strongest in the game)
