How will Western devs learn from it's success?

This game is a scam.
90% of the users already quit before even finishing the first half.
I'd say less than 1% of those who purchased it will finish the actual game.
It's worthless repetitive generic bullshit

Making everything a lazy open world will quadruple ROI

fuck malenia

Where is your logic? How did you deduce that people stopped playing due to your reasoning if it being “worthless repetitive generic bullshit”?
Much more likely is that the bosses were too difficult for entry level players.

You must be mentally retarded, i’m not joking

>carefully designed and crafted open world wins Game of Decade
>others make lazy copies
Tale as old as time.

nigga it's been out for a week. most normies will beat the game over the course of several months.

>Catacombs
>carefully crafted
Lmao.

>Elden Ring
>carefully designed and crafted open world
lol. lmao.

They wont
Western devs feel a compulsive need to hand hold the player to a ridiculous degree

Ghost of Tsushima was the closest good example but even there the guiding wind is too much. Its just another way of making a floating waypoint marker, its not true self made discovery and exploration. Integrating it into the game world doesnt make it truly free.

Catacombs are my favorite open world.

Name a better open world.

Simple: They wont

Dude he was talking about BOTW not Elden Ring, some of you really cant into reading comprehension

eldern ring has the exact shame thing but in the form of light instead of wind. at least play the games before shitposting fucking hell

You too.. that poster was not talking about Elden Ring… read it again…

Nigga I have a full time job and I play like 2 hours every other day at most. I haven't quit

>my worthless opinion
time to go to bed child
>peaked two days ago

granted I actually believe people quit before finishing it because it's huge and a challenge some people get frustrated with, I'm impressed the numbers aren't going down

>whataboutism
We're not talking about other games here. We're talking about Elden Ring's critical open world design flaws.

I have 100 hours in Elden Ring.
Theres 10x more self-discovery and exploration in ER than Tsushima and it shows.
The rewards for doing so are also not 300 bland headbands that gives 1.5% arrow damage when soaking wet under a moonlit sky on the third day of september

They won't learn anything

Its impossible for western devs to learn anything because people who play western games already expect a certain level of handholding in them. Maybe if your dev team has an established style like fromsoft does, you can do something, otherwise you need to follow an expected western path storywise and gameplaywise or noone is going to understand your game.

>it's success?
Hey user. You used an incorrect apostrophe here. In your apparent excitement you may have forgotten the rules of possession in the english language. In this case since you are referring to the success of the game there should not be an apostrophe. If your intention was to say "it is success" then you would be correct but unfortunately your sentence would no longer make sense!
Keep this in mind and happy memeing!

The west has the best rated games.

Chinks wish they could compete.

They won't, Western devs don't learn a damn thing nor understand why it worked.

Make early game "elite" enemies challenging but doable regardless of level. Give some mystery to the world so you don't just know "that's the troll camp, that's the place with giants I'm too low level to explore, etc etc". Stop relying on bigger numbers on items to give gear progression and make gear choice meaningful.

The game is still shit.
