the point of invaders is to add an element of mystery, challenge and surprise. You should use whatever tools you have available at the time to dispatch them and they should do the same.

I don't show any courtesy by default, fuck that. I might give them a dueling emote just to give them a quick stab while they're emoting back. It isn't a fight club, you are interrupting my progress through the game. If i kill you while you're invading me; fuck off and don't come back, if you kill me; well done i hope you had fun.

From goes out of their way to make it harder and harder for invaders to actually have the chance to 1v1 with every new game. If you wanna 1v1 then you'll have to go back to Dark Souls 1.

There is literally a dueling item with unlimited uses given to you with a 2 minute ride from the starting spot
