Have you ever gotten filtered so hard by a game you had to use a guide, lower the difficulty or worst of all, cheat?

My pride stops me from lowering the difficulty, especially since I don't get any satisfaction out of lowering it anyway.
Hardest vidya thing I ever beat was probably Viewtiful Joe on the hardest difficulty and even with that shit I didn't give up
