Have you ever gotten filtered so hard by a game you had to use a guide, lower the difficulty or worst of all, cheat?

I couldn't figure out the piano puzzle in silent hill 1 as a kid. So yes.

never
but that's because I read guides before playing games
I never go blind I'm not a cripple

Enter the Gungeon
Really glad the trend of artificial difficulty roguelikes is starting to go away

I turned god mode on at some point near the end of half life

Sengoku Rance was probably the last game I cheated at.
"What's that? You didn't achieve X,Y,Z, before this event? You're 50 hours in? Well, fuck you, bad ending -- start over, faggot."

You too? By the time I hit the final boss I just wanted to be done with Xen.

Yes. DQ11 draconian mode. Fighting jasper at the end of act 2. I was tired of grinding. I turned off draconian . I dont't know if i will play act 3.

I couldn't beat the last boss of M.U.S.H.A. so I lowered the difficulty and replayed the whole game that way. Not ashamed of it, the game's great, was my first shmup.

I cheat all the time in single player vidya.
Usually when there’s grinding involved or it’s a second play through.

I can't remember the last game I didn't cheat

I used a trainer half way through Bioshock Infinite with one hit kill enabled because the game was so damn boring and i wanted to be done with it.

Same, I can tolerate some grind but when the games start becoming autistic about it and expects you to legit spend hours playing to unlock a scene I bust open the cheat menu. I feel like it's becoming rarer though.

Other than the above, not unless you consider using exploits and glitches to get past ungodly grinds like in Demon Souls.

In my first playthrough I had to lower the difficulty to human in dmc3

I straight up gave up playing Fallout 1
I did everything, read the manual, have a great initial build, talked to every NPC.
But it turned out I missed so much exp/levels when I found the Caravan place near Junktown (still level 1) and basically didn't know how to properly use the item interface to interact with NPCs
Saw a let's play and I couldn't believe what you can do. So many small things that felt hidden behind menus, like my weight limit. By that I mean the game doesnt calculate how much of the items I carry total up to, I just get a prompt that says I can't pick up anything else.

It was too much.

I don't play a game unless there is a detailed guide with pictures to follow.

I hack and cheat in multiplayer games.

My pride stops me from lowering the difficulty, especially since I don't get any satisfaction out of lowering it anyway.
Hardest vidya thing I ever beat was probably Viewtiful Joe on the hardest difficulty and even with that shit I didn't give up
