Why is America such a shithole compared to all other first world countries? There is no reason all our east coast and midwest cities aren’t connected other than the auto industry lobbying against public transit. I feel like America is either the worst first world country or the best third world country.

China's High Speed Rail is 1 trillion dollars in debt and can't even pay it's operating costs to say nothing of it's interest payments let alone principal repayments.

In my experience most people would love public transit, if not for the public. Other first-world countries don't have the demographics we do, so things are more feasible.

Funny enough the single biggest impediment to even Acela speed rail service is two old rail curves through poor nigger neighborhoods in Baltimore city. No one whatsoever has the political will to just demolish their shit hole favelas and bring the white man's progress through town.

We also don't have a flat coastline like those two cities do, there's a reason Chinese railroad gets more sparse west towards the mourning
