The actual Tolkien fanbase seem hostile, due to the flagrant liberties taken with the world. I expect *some* changes in adaptation, but negrelves and dindwarves and so forth is flagrantly against the text and spirit of the works (even if I wasn't suffering from the Fatigue, which I am).

No, it won't. It cost 750 million dollars to make. Amazon Prime is 15 dollars a month. They would need 50 million viewers to watch the full show to break even, let alone make a profit.
