All this shilling for "walkable cities" is no different from the articles telling us that we should be come a nation of renters, and that not owning a home is a good thing. This is no different from articles trying to convince us that meat should be a "sometimes" treat and not a dietary staple.

I think it's moreso down to preference. If you're a person who appreciates the space you get from living in a single family home with a big lawn then cities aren't for you. But the benefits of being able to access basic things like a grocery store, school, and parks by walking instead of driving a car everywhere are there.
Also the density (not some nutzo apartment complex thing, something like picrel seems fine to me) helps with housing prices not being assfucked by Blackrock. But like the other user said, niggers kind of ruin a lot of that since they can take advantage of those prices and accessibility too.
