Ukraine already had Smerch, so I don't see why GMLRS is hyped as some kind of gamechanger. It is fundamentally the same thing, just less ammunition intensive by being more accurate. Not that it matters much when they are getting the ammunition donated from abroad anyway.

4 systems is already a problem and more of them are getting sent. I think the major obstacle was providing training for Ukrainian crews. It looks like the West is raising temperature slowly making sure enough vatniks are getting killed to destroy their imperial ambitions for a long time. Those "rebel" russian leaning areas are getting forcefully drafted and killed as cannon fodder. The russian leaning cities are getting leveled. There will be no vatniks left in Ukraine one way or another after this.

You can soften all you want if your not willing to throw thousands into a meat grinder to gain land back via infantry. Thats how wars are fought and no "new heckin system that will destroy all armies just came up" will change that. Ukraine needs actual infantry advances and city sieges to regain their lost territories, until now they have shown to struggle taking villages that are defended let alone big cities. Even Russias gains are minimal cuz 200k soldiers are a really small force overall to take huge swathes of land despite bombing ukraine non stop for 120 days.
