If things go south, they can easily escape now and leave the country destitute as it’s credit tanks and all the financial capital is pulled into Swiss bank accounts which they will use to fund their new overseas golem elsewhere. Many will get hung up on the "Christian" part here, so let me elaborate.
Ethno religious affiliation, across all civilisations, were the norm up until WW2. They still are outside the West, mainly in Africa and thr ME though.
Many here rightfully note that the West became big while it was Christian.
Many will also note that nihilism, moral relativism, and the general universalist notions of our time stem from Christian dogma itself, the rejection of which has left a moral vacuume which allowed degeneracy to take hold while simultaneously remaining the source of the newly adopted quasi-morals.
Religious and ethnic affiliation go hand in hand. Not because they must, but they've grown in such a fashion world wide.
Up until recently the races were divided and in varying degrees of conflict. Unique religious affiliations were the glue which held those seperate races tied to their respective selves.
Europeans formed the bulk of Christianity.
Arabs the bulk of Islam, etc.
Seperate nations, defined by ethnic interest rather than religious, kept the aforementioned civilisations coherent and identifiable, as well as fragmented into independent nations - which didn't allow for partial, let alone total ethnic and cultural amalgamation.
The US opened up after WW1.
The anglo saxon old stock was being replaced and the mass arrival of newcomers made it impossible to translate any coherent identity onto future generations.
The established ethnic contours, the dominance of protestants, all of it was set to crash. The change from a stable honour based culture to an exclusively professional one.
Industrialisation, urbanisation, low quality immigrants and rising popularity of negro culture.
Not to mention Jews already holding the press.
And even all of the mentioned is merely a part.
