Here is what I noticed (I was actually guilty of this a bit also like 15 years ago). A lot of people are piggy backing on their parents now. So you have people just living at home while working... so instead of paying rent or bills it goes to what you are talking about... cars / computers / crypto or what ever. >How did I break out of the debt crap I was one of the few that mined bitcoin pretty early back in 2009. But before that I was doing the same thing... I was living at home working some shit job, and basically living like a teenager even tho I was 30 years old at the time lol. Which I think is the mindset for a lot of people now. And honestly If I didn't have Bitcoin money I am not sure wtf I would be doing - because everything is stupid expensive now... You are right. I've cancelled all my non essential subscriptions. I buy cheap used reliable cars. I have a SIM only phone plan and only replace my handset (i just buy cheap chink ones) once every few years. I buy household products in bulk. I buy cheaper food, in bulk if i can. When i buy clothes (not often) i buy non-brand stuff from amazon etc.
Low and behold, i can easily afford to buy a home am able to save generously with very little impact on my quality of life.

I spend most of my discretionary money on guns, ammo, body armor, magazines, going to the range and going to the gym. And my dogs.
