Canada has public health. This is a good concept. Until you bring in 400k+ people a year with no new hospitals being built.

Minimum wage should not be required (for the most part). Our governments should not print endless money and inflate the currencies. They should not be importing endless slave labor to cut wages. They should not allow outsourced goods to be imported.

we have a very simple solution to this over here
we make the minimum wage dependent on both age and type of contract
a 16 year old working 8 hours a week isn't paid the same as a 23 year old working 40 hours a week
this means we have a constant rotation of young people in high school entering the work force in shitty burger flipping jobs or supermarket jobs and college students leaving to get paid internships or to simply get hired somewhere better, with some experience on their resume, with some of them getting promoted and becoming burger managers themselves
it seems to work pretty decently, the real issue is overtaxation driving prices of everything through the roof and the welfare state pushing for more and more social housing which fucks over the middle class housing market

Honestly 1 man independent operator food vending is probably the best way to ensure that the food is prepared by someone getting a living wage

the bigger issue with socialized systems is the idea that just giving people money will fix things. it doesn't. welfare should be seen as a temporary fix, something to keep you afloat until you can sustain yourself. people shouldn't just be given free healthcare, they should be helped if they can't pay for it and "in the mean time, here's how you can improve your health so you don't have to pay for it anymore!"
and if they don't follow the rules, guess what? we're not helping you pay.
