Should voting rights be amended? Like say, instead of just being 18 and a citizen, there also be a standard IQ test along with some kind of general knowledge of political systems test? I feel like this would weed out a lot of people who shouldn't be voting.
What about you Any Forums? How would you set the standards on who gets to vote?
Dude if there is any part of our taxes that should go to something it's public education. You seem fixated on the part where we give billions in military spending and other bullshit. Every part of Public Education is woefully underfunded.
Connor Perry
Why are all your statements just random schitzo responses?
Ian Carter
>Every part of Public Education is woefully underfunded. No, it isn't. It is massively overfunded. The funds are simply spent badly. Americans in the 1950s were far better educated than they are now, but per capita education spending was far lower. And this has nothing to do with the point I raised, which is that education does not increase intelligence. No amount of educating niggers will make them any less stupid.

I think older people should vote, like make it 21. We should honestly make it so you don't become an adult until 21, no military, no taxes, no smokes, still live with parents/guardians all until 21. 18 is just too young to die for American Imperialism
Nah, any even remotely objective and well formed test would disqualify 99% of the population from voting, which would effectively destroy the point of having democracy in the first place.
Though democracy is trash, so we might as well.
Austin Gray
Debt free and land owning men with children are the only ones who should be allowed to vote.
David Myers
>Should voting rights be amended? The US Constitution states we have a duty to vote so the positive right to vote is implied. Any idiot fucking opinions suggesting anything else is retarded and anti-constitutional.
>there also be a standard IQ test Not the Stanford-Binet IQ. It would have to be the consolation prize Verbal IQ test or else it would not benefit right-wing conservatives.
>people who shouldn't be voting Criminals shouldn't be voting, but once they've served their time and paid their debt to society their rights need to be restored.
Evan Gonzalez
It used to be reserved for white, landowning men. Maybe this isn't the perfect criteria, but look how things have gone since we loosened it.

There's a fine line between naivety and ignorance.

Intercity school's are horribly funded. They have a lot of money because they need it all to function, and they still don't get enough. I went to an extremely well funded public school all my life and I went to an intercity school one day to visit a friend who teaches there and they could barely afford any extra curricular activities and had to cut thier baseball and volleyball teams because of budget issues. They had so many teachers teaching multiple classes . My public school growing up had like 1 or 2 classes per teacher. The city schools are being deliberately underfunded due to racist state governments and it just makes the state worse for it because now there's so many more uneducated people who can't work good paying jobs and instead just drain the state for welfare because the only jobs they can get don't pay them enough.
