I hope you are prepared for food shortages

Feed prices have skyrocketed in the last year and is close to doubling. The cost of fencing has more than doubled. Farmers are not going to lose money to feed you. The farmers/homesteaders are beginning to turn inward and focusing on feeding themselves and their families. There is a reason they are pushing fake meat so hard. You will eat the bugs.

STFU Chicken Little. You guys have been wrong about everything.

it is ingenious. How do you make people want to not eat meat? Well, you do it gradually. Slowly introducing cloned, shit meat into the market until after 5-10 years it's all that's left. Sure, the smart people go straight to the farmer not a grocery store for their meat but not sure how sustainable that's going to be as even the people I know doing that can't do it anymore, and the meat is still garbage and they had to sell their entire shop and move.

picrel is a Joel Salatin follower. I don't have chickens yet but will this season. I grow a lot of food but not enough to feed my family full time. I need to buy some food and store it maybe.

just wainting for 3x large pizza with 6 pizzaroll sets arriving.
With DIET coke.

I just ate fried potatos with 6 fried eggs on top i think i am fone for the next week

LMAO. You are fucked. Fertilizer shortages are already here. You will be paying 3X the price for vegetables in the coming months. There are quite a few farmers who will not be planting grain this spring. Enjoy your fake chicken.

Get your order into the hatchery now to make sure you get the date you want and to lock the price.

yeah i was planning on mcmurray but also saw they were selling them again at tractor supply.

a little jelly right now.

why would i eat the bugs when i can feed chickens the bugs and eat the chickens or bunnies that eat grass you poeple really are stupid

Farms are all gov subsidized anyway, costs don't actually matter, nothing will happen, and OP is a huge faggot

We got 20 from Cackle hatchery and 20 from our tractor supply. They should be in the tractor by March 17th if the weather cooperates

right on! best of luck this season senpai.

So subsidies make up for no fertilizer? Also they dont just write them a check fr "inflation" the subsidy they got last year is the same as this year. There are going to be some shocked and frightened people in the coming months when they see that to feed themselves they are going to have to make some decisions.

That cage is animal cruelty

>Just two more weeks and you'll starve!

HAHA that cage gets moved daily to a fresh area. They are cornish cross which have zero predator awareness. If you think that free ranged cornish cross chickens is cruel you would shit if you saw where your chicken comes from.

>gets moved daily to a fresh area
but you have 20 chickens running around in a smaller room than my wc, are you retarded or what? you should have 1 chicken in that room not 20

No one said you would starve. But you will pay a much more substantial amount of your income to feed yourself. I guess you have not been to the grocery store the last few months.

Those are for meat birds and they are only in there for a short time before they are culled. This is a Joel Salatin design and is very popular and good for the birds. You don't know what you are talking about. Research Joel Salatin.

You have no idea what you are talking about. Cornish cross dont even walk around. The sit on their ass and eat. My egg layers have well over an acre to roam around. Cornish dont need or use that type of space.

I also have chickens. They have large areas to free range. Most of those idiots stay together within an 10-20 foot area 90% of the time. Same for my ducks.

Certain animals benefit from a lot of space but chickens are fucking retarded and most breeds don’t need space

He's a city fag. The city fags are the first to die always. He's never seen a prolapsed cow. He's never spread shit across a field. His meat comes from a grocery store and his vegetables come from the frozen aisle. People like him will try to come to the rural parts and well have to put their heads on pikes to scare the others away.

This is the first time I have actually thought about your scenario. It actually could get to the point that people start trying to steal food.

Nah, government will subsidize if needed, it always does.

Chicken tractors are retarded and always end up being poorly maintained because the larping homesteaders are too lazy to move the fucking tractor when that many chickens have scratched up the entire patch of grass within one day. Build a proper henhouse if you want egg production.

Just saw this article.
amgreatness.com/2022/03/02/corn-and-basedbean-farmer-says-americans-may-see-grocery-bills-increase-1000-a-month/

got my sweet potatoes planted and started building my chicken coop. worst case is i save a bunch of money on food. Farming and gardening is based.

When you're this insistent that no one should be prepared for hardship, it makes you sound like you have a vested interest in keeping other people helpless.

Sorry to break it to you user, but this is 100x more humane than actual factory farming. OP's pic is the most economical way to raise meat chickens off an organic fresh grass diet.

Raising meat chickens is a different game than raising chickens just for eggs.

>Farmers are not going to lose money to feed you
Correct. I'm doubling my prices.
t. farmer

>Farmers are not going to lose money to feed you
Farmers have been losing money to feed us for decades now.

based dieting polack

I guess so in the US. Have fun.
I earn over average anyway so I am fine.

He's not wrong though. Look at the commodity prices. Not just the foods themselves, but also diesel, phosphorous, urea etc. Take a look at prices in agricultural stores. This is going to hurt.
