Feed prices have skyrocketed in the last year and is close to doubling. The cost of fencing has more than doubled. Farmers are not going to lose money to feed you. The farmers/homesteaders are beginning to turn inward and focusing on feeding themselves and their families. There is a reason they are pushing fake meat so hard. You will eat the bugs.

it is ingenious. How do you make people want to not eat meat? Well, you do it gradually. Slowly introducing cloned, shit meat into the market until after 5-10 years it's all that's left. Sure, the smart people go straight to the farmer not a grocery store for their meat but not sure how sustainable that's going to be as even the people I know doing that can't do it anymore, and the meat is still garbage and they had to sell their entire shop and move.
