Russia already is self-sufficient. As the recent energy crisis in Europe has illustrated, it is the west that needs Russia and not the other way around.

Sanction Russia all you want, they have a strong domestic economy (less reliant upon foreign goods) and they'll still have China to trade with even if America and its little minions in Europe decide to sanction them.

Leverage for political gain and self-sufficiency are two very different things.

Sanctions have never worked against Russia. It caused some temporary pain, but ultimately strengthened Russia's economy by forcing them to rely upon domestic production rather than imports.

Sanctions are only big deal to countries that are not self-sufficient. But no retards are able to understand that. IF a country can exist in a vacuum, then sanctions are ultimately not able to topple it

Right. From whar I can tell it seems like it would still operate. Hell Venezuala still has adrs. I just am curious if there would be any scenario where I could not buy MOEX from say Schwab ( not my broker but just an example). Not buying now but I do think as a value investor this presents opportunity and Russia and Mexico have a better exonomic base than the US.
