Selling gaming pc I rarely play games on and downgrading to basic Laptop.
It mainly will be used for Email, Bank, Any Forums, and the occasional online purchase and AoE II Multiplayer. Which OS do you use/recommend? Which is best for privacy/security? Which is best for simplicity/minimal bloatware.
Which operating system do you use/recommend Any Forums?
all shit
open bsd
unironically install ubuntu server and apt-get whatever else you want after that
Temple
Glows can’t monitor you if you are on anything pre XP. 98 is a good choice.
The most important thing is that the people who use it are empowered to change it. That's why Linux based OSes don't have many of the Windows problems (and why the Linux desktop "sucks" because the devs won't adopt user hostile paradigms from Windows.)
mac
Build your own kernel
More interesting now is weather or not you tolerate the Android/iOS jew.
It's full of snap shit now.
windows 7 and linux
go back to /g
Windows 11
Gentoo is unironically the best Linux distro and, therefore, the best operating system.
>this dinosaur is still living in the era of apt-get
everyone uses flatpacks now grandpa
based TempleOS user

OpenVMS,
use linux & if you don't want bloatware use arch.
I use windows because I want my home computer shit to work with minimal effort. There's zero purpose of having Linux on a home PC other than hurr durr look at me I'm so nerdy and smart guise look I don't run typical software on MY stuff ha I bet you all run Windows lmao losers imagine using something so terrible as Windows I mean like yeah it's so bad and yeah I have to manually do basically everything and it takes me 30 more minutes to solve something that windows takes 5 seconds to accomplish but at least I'm QUIRKY and COOL to all my peers who couldn't give a fuck less.
The trannies took it over and fucked up a bunch of the systemd replacement stuff.
This, /thread.
Just use Ubuntu and don't complicate thing with meme distros. Only once you've lurked Any Forums for a year do you even think of trying something else.
They are all shit now.
>finally being called a linux boomer
and so it has come to pass.
>muh apps
have fun trying to find a flatpak to get a window manager loaded.
>I use windows because I want my home computer shit to work with minimal effort
>minimal effort
>Never mind forced updates that make your computer completely unavailable for long periods
>Never mind broken background garbage you have to hunt down and kill for the machine to stay usable
>Never mind the online only account garbage that keeps interupting you
>Never mind the long installation time when everything inevitably breaks
>Never mind all the work a rounds you have to do for basic things like compiling.
>Never mind all the missing stuff that you need whenever you interact with a Linux machine over ssh
>Never mind having to sort through all the software yourself instead of having distro maintainers do it for you
>Never mind all the extra effort, just watch ads on youbook
Decent Linux distros are unironically *far* less effort and work much better than Windows.
>Ubuntu
nigger
I'd say FreeBSD or gentoo. But they're for pro's i assume.
Start with debian and work your way upwards.
If you don't like systemd take devuan
The ugly thing that no one is talking about with flatpack/snapp/appimage is that it will destroy the culture on Linux where you have to publish the source to your app and convince maintainers on a mailing list to merge your package into the repo. This protected naive users from scams and telemetry without restricting their ability to install software via eg configure/make. The result is this kind of volunteer community similar to the church where the elders help the congregation through similar spiritual troubles.
