More lanes means more depedeny on cars because more lanes means less sidewalks and bikelanes/paths. Idealy, you want to reduce car dependency and make other modes of transportation more viable.
Basicaly, reduce the NEED to drive a car so that the only ones driving a car are the ones who WANT to drive a car (You?).

Politicians are both brain dead niggers and corrupt assholes. Simultaneously they are too stupid at analyzing an area's traffic patterns to determine the best infrastructure while also being corrupt to the core and going with whomever's idea lines their pockets the most/gets them more power. The road in front of my neighborhood was recently reworked. a stretch of road about 2 miles in length. They turned 4 lanes of traffic (two sidewalks on each side) into two lanes with bike lanes. The bike lanes are now used as parking spots for the people whose houses line the streets.

It's because they gave subhumans Kia and Hyundai. These animals used to walk, or use public transportation. They couldn't afford vehicles, so less traffic. Again, niggers are at fault for this.
