Been rewatching Ghost in the Shell: SAC recently, and the quality is absolutely astounding. How come we don't get anime like this anymore?
Been rewatching Ghost in the Shell: SAC recently, and the quality is absolutely astounding...
Otaku want the same shit shovelled into their mouth time after time. Capitalism dictates what gets made.
But otaku fucking love GitS
Because everything have to be a school setting with plenty of sexy girls.
In fact, I order you to start rewriting GitS immediately to fit in this new world order.
That's right, Motoko Kusanagi is now a student at the Section 9 police school, most of her colleages are gender switched and young comely cyborg girls.
Also you can talk about the Major's ass casually. Plenty of panty shot.
Wasn’t it one of the most expensive TV anime ever?
>How come we don't get anime like this anymore
We get anime of SAC's kind all the time, they're just live-action English-language anime called "CSI clones." Because that's all SAC is.
Show me a CSI show with a Laughing Man.
>come we don't get anime like this anymore?
3 words: Moe and Isekai
because fans like you don't buy shit
Do you still watch anime? I can count at least 6 series this season that do not have a school setting. Still, is right: the quality of the writing can not be compared.
If you are satisfied with 6 it just show how low we've fallen should I bet one or two of those are isekai?
Can't blame it all on school setting after all.
Here's another pitch for a new GitS: a schoolgirl or boy, who care at this point is isekaied in a cyberpunk world, wake up as a super-cyborg with cheat abilities.
The movie? Maybe, the show? I doubt so.
Don’t hurt my feelings.
it's actually boring
dont know what people saw in this
No they dont, gen z otaku dont know what this is, too serious for em
This was produced during the golden age of anime. Now we are no longer in the golden age.
The production cost was 800 million yen. Also, don't forget it originally aired on pay-per-view, 2 episodes each month.
>How come we don't get anime like this anymore?
nobody wants to take their time with anything. nowadays I don't even watch most anime, I'll give the first two episodes a shot then drop basically the whole season for being uninteresting.
At least we got Sonny Boy and To Your Eternity recently.
I wasn't aware SAC was made in the 80s bubble economy and released on LaserDisc
Second GIG was better.
We literally got the second half of a sequel series to Stand Alone Complex like three months ago.
That being said, it was shithouse.
Wasn't SAC one of the most expensive TV anime of all time?
