Thread for those of us who actually work in tech to tell workplace stories, complain about coworkers and management, share advice on how to progress in careers, and discuss the technologies we use at our cagies.
bros, I just thought of some funny shit for my resume/LinkedIn. You know how when you pass CISSP or whatever but you don't have enough years of experience to officially call yourself a CISSP and you have to call yourself an "Associate of ISC2" instead? If I take this new baby cert from ISC2 (isc2.org/Certifications/CC) do I get to call myself an Associate of ISC2 on LinkedIn? It's even free(?) lmao Also does anyone here have this cert? I work in cyber security and have been studying for CISSP so I assume I could pass this right now but I figure I'd at least read through the official study material first because failing it would be pretty embarrassing desu.
Hey my fellas how do I fluff up my resume to get internships, as a cs undergrad? I’m scared as hell everyone is saying entry level is saturated as fuck

What meme? Did you wash out and now blaming the program for your own short comings?

I'm all-in HBAR right now. pic related demoralized me. Regardless I'm still going to finish the degree and aim for help desk then eventually a Jr sysadmin position or SOC analyst
You really shouldn't listen to people like that on this board. More often than not they are unsuccessful losers projecting their own failures. The fact he is calling WGU a for profit cracks me up.

Does degree still matter after I have gotten my first job? My degree is computer engineering and got a job as a backend dev but I'm thinking of switching to embedded in the future after I get enough bucks

degree doesn’t matter at all once you’ve had some real world experience.

>I’m scared as hell everyone is saying entry level is saturated as fuck It is but with incompetent people. If you're half decent you'll find something sooner or later. Build projects and put them on your resume. You'll get good at code reading and debugging on the way.
Jason Peterson
Why wouldn't it be?

Wait these guys? I know someone who did their program last year. Now they're doing an internship with me and recruiters are offering this guy 150k position as a sales guy.
