Because like most progressive liberals they live in rich mostly white neighborhoods in their city so they don't actually see or deal with the consequences of their political views. It's easy being tolerant when you live in a bubble.

republican cities have crime problems usually race related because entire parts of the city are majority black. lots of them just perpetually poor for no reason. i think it's because theres less jobs because there is less expansion in conservative areas, which means if people move there too fast it leads to high crime. if the republican places stay low population they are nice usually. like hunstville alabama or cary NC or something. or charleston. but not north charleston, exact opposite. thats where the overpopulated poor blacks live. i think the conservatism led to slow expansion which led to low prices which led to too many people moving there and causing crime and unemployment. i would think many blacks come south because of cheap housing. i doubt the south is so black because of birth rates because 70 percent of them are single moms anyway. and high death rate. it's probably a lot of people moving and doing gang activity. and the conservatism leads to weak police. in the democrat places it's the opposite problem, too much expansion too fast, too much spending, too high prices. too many people being born, too many people leaving and moving away who need to be working and paying taxes, etc. basically only the wealthy can afford to lvie there so the labor force leaves, causes big crashes in the economies then entire parts of the city become uninhabitable and unmaintanable, and so everyone flocks to one part of town which inflates and keeps the depressed parts alive. then that place just grows and grows exponential suburban sprawl. in the west it's a bit different because zoning is a lot different, lots of land is public or they have stricter zoning laws because of environmental regulations. so then even the depressed parts of town become expensive. population dwindles and only the very poor and very rich remain, labor force is gone. those places collapse, they will become like detroit during the worst times.
