Older people, has the world changed that much after 9/11?

Yes, a lot.

Yes. In the 90ies (at least for the more civilized countries on this planet, including east asia and former soviet states) everything seemed to be great and only getting better. We saw some ethical problems with technology coming, but in general everybody was hyped for shit and we thought that we'd be able to tackle every big upcoming problem.

9/11 marked the end of this thinking: "everybody pragmatic now" because they feared some fucking terrorists when in reality the world was a safer place than ever before. And thanks to that the US unleashed complete and utter chaos to the world.

*Every* big problem that we have to today can be traced back to the reaction of the US back then.

Yep.

We use to have a 4th amendment, it was neat

Who are the worlds fastest readers?

9/11 victim's... they went through 110 stories in 12 seconds

Yes, very much. It changed the course of history very much.

Yup, world has gone to shit since 9/11
I used to love flying, after 9/11 it's such a pain that it isn't worth doing anymore
20 years of war in the middle east
Everything went grim dark, you haven't had proper heroes since 9/11

Checked
Also, yes its changed a shitload and non of it for the better.

I'm 44 years old, go fuck yourself, pee pee poo poo, nigger. What was the question again?

It's really not difficult at all to fly, you're just lazy

It was the start of the end of personal freedom. We rolled over and have it up in the name of patriotism.

>has the world changed that much after 9/11?
For some years, yes.
Before 9/11, we still had some kind of cold war. After 9/11, the military-industrial complex had its long-sought new enemy, with the trillion-dollar Iraq War as pinnacle. And one million dead people until today. The Evil Russian wasn't needed anymore.

But because the muslims didn't fit into a large-enough enemy scheme on the long term, the MIK wanted the evil Russian back. So, the CIA gave 5 billion dollars to Victoria Nuland, who bought a coup d'etat and civil war in Ukraine, with the result in the news these days.

We had a chance for real, lasting world peace after 9/11. But important and rich people in the US didn't want this - a cooperation of EU and Russia, to be precise - to happen.

The world as it was known literally ended that day.

A lot actually. Before the 2000s and after is incomparable in terms of how much society has decayed and devolved and how much social and institutional relations have frayed. We were born in a world that no longer exists.

>has the world changed that much after 9/11?
Yes, at least for the people of Chile. Decades of state terrorism, torture, murder and oppression.
Thanks to the CIA.

You can thank conservatives for that, specifically neocons.

Thats an old one

>black towers
You had one job.

True, but leftists and democrats really ran with it since then.

Imagine if I came to your house, took over everything, declared myself in charge from then on, instituted some new policies….and then said, “Now you can go about your life just as you used to.” And then I left.

Would anything “change” that much for you? Arguably not. Because I said you could go about your life as usual. So day to day, that’s what you’d be doing.

Except you KNOW you’re less free. Because I’m in charge. Which means you get to keep going on “as usual” only because I let you. At a whim, I could make life difficult for you, if I chose. …or if you got out of line.

This is the last 20 years in America. 9/11 was the impetus for the rise of the domestic surveillance and police state, from cameras on stoplights to taking your shoes off in the airport, all in the name of “safety first.”

It continues today, of course.

They just made you inject an experimental vaccine under the same charade.

Safety first. Gotta stay safe. Better safe than sorry. Don’t worry, you’ve got to hide. If it saves only one person. We’ve got data saying there’s WMDs. Follow the experts. We’ve got data saying masks work. Follow the science. Trust us. Our job is to keep you safe. Safe. Be safe.

9/11 was the launching pad for using safety as a pretext for the government to do literally whatever they want, whenever they want.

But otherwise, no, not much has changed day to day.

Yes yes, both parties are shit.
