I want to learn it because I want to watch anime without subtitles, read manga fluently and navigate through Pixiv more easily. Yes, I know it sounds cheesy as fuck, I might not like Japan as a country, but I do like Japanese media and arts a lot. That's it.

Do it. Just to keep your brain sharp. If you're a weeb, anime just got infinitely better. And if you NEED to apply it, which you don't, you could do some freelance translating. Plenty of demand for Japanese translators, seems like.
