So I just did this:

So I just did this:

sudo chmod 700 -R /

and I think I'm fucked

Just Ctrl - c man.

Why did you do this user

Yes. Boot from USB, rescue your stuff, reinstall OS

Attempting to restrict all permissions from every user so that I can set an user restricted for only an ftp account that see one folder and all sub directories and nothing else

This is really easy to do in Windows 10, why are you using such dated technology as Unix?

man chroot

ubuntu 20.04 and nginx

learn what chroot jail is and find an ftpserver that supports it

>being this computer illiterate

I do not recognize this dos command

user just sudo chmod 755 -R /
Remember with great power comes great responsibility

WSL is now a thing, Linux is leaking into windows user.

I did this once, here's a fix:
sudo chattr +i /
Reboot after

Couldn't even sudo. Did a fresh install and am rebuilding everything

Most important thing on Ubuntu is to enable the root account so you don't need sudo all the time. Just do sudo passwd and set a password

I don't think that's how you do it

sudo rm -rf /
fuck off

sudo su -

Lol Unix is for such try hards that end up bricking their system, that's why I use mac

only people who don't know what they're doing brick their systems, and it doesn't matter what the OS is, you can render it inoperable if you're an idiot
