There should be more jobs and things that you can do to make money, quickly, and without much qualification. Getting a degree as a bum is a longterm thing. If anything, lots of people have figured out how to get better jobs online. The US labor shortage that's been going on for a year? Could be everyone just decided they don't need income, but I bet a lot of young people figured out how to get jobs online (for higher-paying, out-of-area companies) that pay at least as much as working in a restaurant or whatever, and they can do it from home in their underwear. And maybe on their own schedule.
