This is just a bluff, right?

This is just a bluff, right?
They put my real name in the subject line. Only thing I can think of is that I have my real name on a YouTube channel that is associated with this email, but the channel isn’t set to display my email. I haven’t used anything but an iPhone for the past couple of months, is it possible they hacked into my front-facing camera for that?
I’m not paying this bitch $1200, that’s for sure. I don’t even know how to use LTC. I can’t think of anything I’ve done other than just watch standard porn, but of course I don’t want a video of me “jerkin it” to get out.

Extortion is a crime. Report it

How? Would the feds be able to do anything if this is just some burner email? I assume they’re behind a VPN probably, yeah?

labnol.org/internet/find-location-of-gmail-sender/21098/

You’re right, they may be on a vpn, but it’s a start.

By the way user, what apps have access to the camera feature on your phone?

Also, I only have one contact on my email account, that I just now deleted, not that it would matter if this person did hack and find it. I assume they mean that they got access to my phone contacts, or else it’s just a bluff. Though, I’m sure with my real name they could find people I know if they had something “embarrassing” on me.

Shit, probably a lot. Probably a stupid thing to do and to ask, but do those things stop having access when I close the app?
I’ll try that site, but this person sent from an aol address.

Had one of these come up a few years ago it’s a bluff reported still but don’t sweat it too much they are trying to get money off you, they word for word email me this too

Have you recorded urself jerkin it? If not it's a scam 100 percent

You’re a retard OP.
These pajeets access your info from leaks of companies you’ve given your personal info to. They don’t have any footage of you, you fool. They make the same claim thousands of times a day and the same story applies to most people. Don’t do anything.

Oh oh oh and you could always ask them to show you the video, if they refuse it's a scam

depends on the intention of the developer and if any of the repositories that the developers drew their crap from was/has been/is compromised
Long story short, if you use an app for something dumb like your calculator and it asks for your camera permission you should just uninstall it.

Thanks anons. That was my first instinct, but I did have a bit of doubt and the “what if” thought in my head. I’m far from the only one who watches porn, but it would be pretty easy to blackmail most people if you recorded a video of them at that point.

The claim is that they deleted their email but yeah I’ll have to try that anyway.

I mostly just allow permission from apps that actually need my camera, but of course they’re probably just as easily likely compromised as any app could be. I’m leaning towards agreeing with the anons who tell me that this is just some scammer who doesn’t have anything on me, and I’m too much of a poor fuck to send $1000 over anyway kek.

the fact they're asking for cryptocurrency and the poor use of English should reassure you it's a scam. They ask for crypto so they're not traced or whatever

Understandable, still though clean your app permissions and uninstall apps you don't need or your carrier forces to you every once in a while. once every three or four months is a little OCD but reassuring

Even if they weren’t bluffing, what they’re doing is illegal. I don’t think they have a video of me, but I don’t see how poor English and crypto would make that more or less likely that they’re telling the truth. I just think it’s a lot easier to bluff that you have a video than it is to hack someone’s webcam and then wait and monitor until they start jacking off, but then again I remember a website that was posted here years ago where you could click on random peoples’ house security cams. Spooky stuff.
Thank you. I’ll have to get started on that.

lol you are about to be exposed big time.

first time dealing with internet blackmail? Call the FBI.

Best practice is to remove any and all permissions of an app that it doesn't functionally require.
gps services legitimately need your location, and that can still be given temporarily. Fruit ninja doesn't need your fucking location except to sell it, turn that shit off.

that'a how they getcha

Very true. No reason for some mobile game to need to see through my camera or my location.

Probably lying curryniggers. Even if they're not, the correct answer to leaked nudes is ignore it and get over it.

Just reply with
>Jokes on you, exhibitionism is my fetish
The poo scammer fears the giga coomer

not just games, I check the permissions of any app I put on my phone and strip it down
sensually

I agree with other anons this is definitely a scam, to give you more info they buy leaks from companies that contain name, surname, email address, sometimes password, even credit card info.
I once had someone email me my password and said they hacked into my PC and retrieved a video of me jerking, same asking for money.
I ghosted, nothing happened

If you or anyone else thinks this is real you're fucking retarded and need to get off the internet. Also, for this advice I need at least $250 of Apple gift cards, you can contact me at [email protected]

the email bounced ;(

Noice
Don’t let the scammers catch you doing it sensually kek
