The great big 3. y/n?
The great big 3. y/n?
kill yourself
No. The big 3 are Debian, Red Hat, Slackware.
Gentoo and Arch are separate but lesser.
Nigga fuck you
i haven't tried debian or gentoo
i really like pacman, is apt just as good?
It has good package managers
Big 3 of what exactly?
If we're talking server Linux, absolutely not.
If we're talking desktop, absolutely not.
If we're talking minimal distros that Any Forums likes, sure.
You gotta be more specific.
If we're talking desktop Linux, the big 3 are: Ubuntu, Fedora, (maybe) Arch
aptitude, apt, apt-get and snap
All a sys admin could ask for in life.
came to say this
Who in their right mind considers arch and gentoo one of the big 3?
apt fucking sucks
there is not big 3, only big 2
Ubuntu and Arch
others are irrelevant
It's funny watching all these people calling Arch "big". It just shows who has a job or not.
>If we're talking desktop Linux, the big 3 are: Ubuntu, Fedora, (maybe) Arch
this, though maybe debian instead of ubuntu, since ubuntu is based off debian.
The Debian team have made it a decent desktop experience over time, but it honestly isn't there yet. Ubuntu is basically the desktop version of Debian in my eyes.
in one of the past jobs, most developers who used Linux used Arch, with few guys using Ubuntu and one guy using Debian
maybe you should get a job, at least not in some boomer corporation
debian are just ubuntu jannies at this point, doing their work for free
yeah those neets at valve
If you've got a beefy system, you would most likely like portage
Why Any Forums started to hate on Arch all of a suden? Is one of the most lightweight and functional distros. I used it at my job too and its miles ahead of ubuntu user experience wise.
sour grapes, newfags can't install arch even with installer
GRUB fucking up loads of peoples system might be one reason.
I've used Arch a lot, now on Ubuntu. While designing your own experience is great, I am now enjoying the tailored experience and the benefits of being the most used distro (i.e. better software availability and support)
Arch, Fedora, and OpenSUSE everything else is a meme
This user gets it.
>no redhat
Absolute state.
