Can you live at bare minimum?
And yes, why?
Bare minimum living
Tomorrow I'm going to eat a delicious whopper from Burger King.
Depends on where i live. If i got a gun, tools, trees and a car, totally. I will just hunt for berries, shrooms, animals like elk and deer. And make my own furniture
Yes, given that bare minimum means that my minimum requirement for self fulfillment is met. I'm a musician for a living and without it I would see no reason to exist, so I would at the very least need a couple of playable instruments. Otherwise I never really feel a strong desire for anything.
Yes. I honestly want to live like that. Theres no reason to have anything more than a bed, food and water, a way of getting news in like a TV or Radio and a shitty pc for work. Anything more is just consumer crap that eats up your income for no reason. If you're that desperate for further entertainment then just go outside.
Never been to prison have you?
yes. because im not a vain bitch
i can, looks like you can't
Fuck settling for the bare minimum. I want the stupidly rich to pay their fair share of taxes. It won't stop them from leading gluttonous lives, I just want enough to live without being expected to eat a can of beans while sitting on my apartment floor. We need a dignified existence, I'm so sick of these rich fucks. Give us bread but give us roses too. Class warfare now!
I would stretch a loaf of bread and a pound of baloney for 4 days ($3), carbo load up on a friday happy hour nachos, fake cheese, and jalapenos. did some shitty commission-only sales job where a van dropped me off far from home, and my room had text books, a mattress, blankets, pillows in it, and whatever free t-shirts I could grab on campus. quit that commission only job for a sweet ass $4.25/hr minimum wage job.
So yeah, I did for like 3 years and it fucking sucked. If you can keep your sanity and do something like that, more power to you.
Jesus christ
That ceiling is too high. Take some of the upper wall and put it on the floor so you have more floor space
One last thing to go....
yes. Maybe a table if I'm feeling selfish
When you first start on the Sims
it's more of a female urge to cover your walls and everything with a buncha shit. maybe it stems from the nesting instinct I dunno but it definitely seems like a uniquely female urge. I've never been in a woman's dwelling and seen bare walls, minimal furnishings etc
I sleep on the floor and I made my kitchen out of plywood lying around. I am a very clean personso the less shit and crevices to clean the better.
Needless to say I hate myself and don't see a reason to invest in nice things. They'll break down eventually ayway so why not keep everything as functional as possible.
also fixed a bike up that I found in the dumpster with which I am cruising around. turning trash into something useable makes me feel good. Learned how to fix and build shit on my own, feels like an accomplishment every time I get something running or useful again. Sorry for going offf there a little bit
I'm all about practicality, so yes. I would live like this. All I really need is food in the pantry (The stove obviously comes with the apartment) a seat, a bed, a PC, internet access, and my console with a flat screen for entertainment.
There's also gonna be some clothing, but it's not gonna overflow from the closet, and my meager bath supplies. That is it.
Lol that’s gay
bro your fat ass can't even walk around a block.
If you are left to fend for yourself you will die within a week.
My cabin is literally just my one room livingroom/ kitchen, an open loft with a box spring & mattress on the floor, and a small bathroom, a small wood burning stove to heat my place & cook on in the winter, a 2 burner hot pad to cook on, a small microwave, a dorm-size fridge & a small toaster oven. Been living the the "bare" life for 15 years.
All I have in my "livingroom " is my recliner, my 32 inch TV, laptop, ps4 & my charging station for my laptop & phone.
All I stock are canned meats, canned fruits & veggies, canned ravioli, little debbies & enery drinks. My fridge only holds 2 gallons of milk.
Living the bare life in the mountains makes it less complicated and it's much cheaper than living in urban areas. The downside is it's extremely solitary and gets lonely at times. My only real human contact is when my girlfriend comes up from town every other weekend to hang out & when I go to pick up my grocery order from Walmart every 3 weeks.
If you're not use to being alone most the time, I wouldn't advise it. I work a 16 hour / week remote call center gig, so spending 2 days a week on my laptop talking to dozens of people helps keep me from going full crazy mountain man.
Im not a minimalist, so living bare minimum is a no for me.
However you can live well and really cheap by just not being a fucking moron. Dont go out to bars every week, dont buy the most expensive smartphones, repair your shit instead of throwing stuff away (like a broken zipper on a backpack), do NOT buy brand clothing and dont throw them away the minute you find a tiny hole or whatnot.
Dont pay for subscriptions that you do not actually use.
Also instead of heating your house all day, just put on a sweater or get a comfy blanket.
Keep foods with long shelf lives in a closet so you have something to fall back on when youre low on money (not just noodles, think like vegetables in cans and foods you can freeze, soups, pasta etc)
Browse and find stuff in 2nd hand stores, look for stuff people are selling or even giving away for free (I got 2 bigass couches in good condition for free once)
It also helps if youre not a lardass fat bastard thats always hungry.
I live well and I live pretty luxurious. Just know what youre doing.
If I had the means to, this would be my preferred existence. Tried saving up to buy a plot of land in S.E. Kentucky, but everything's gotten so fucking expensive under this senile geriatric president, it completely wiped out my savings.
