Our culture has abandoned the Christian God in pursuit of "liberation", (aka enslaving themselves to their primal desires and rationalizing what is irrefutably self-destructive hedonism).
The result has left a massive series of void in their hearts that they thought wild, unrestricted pleasure seeking would fill, but of course it didn't. People are addicted to their pleasures and miserable, and have no answers to the questions Christianity already answered with thousands of years of philosophy. What's the point of my life? How do I make peace with suffering and death? Why do anything? What is right and wrong and why should I do one and not the other?
"Liberation" answered none of these, so now people of our culture are trying to find a surrogate "god" to replace the one they abandoned.
This is why people are depressed and anxious on a level never seen before in history. This is why so people are throwing their lot in with political cults and extreme activism. This is why so many people are looking to their politicians and governments like gods to "save" them. This is why they are inventing insane new ideas on morality and creating blasphemy laws and inquisitions to enforce them. They are desperate to find a replacement for the God they convinced themselves that they no longer need.

Our culture has forgotten God, and is trying to find a surrogate.

Yes, absolutely. If someone is trying to make it illegal for them to pursue their dysfunctional woke faith, that is absolutely an infringement on their religious rights.
I am not saying that these people shouldn't be legally allowed to pursue their crazy, lunatic woke religion if they want, so long as they don't force others to participate.
What I AM saying is that if they do, it is going to result immense suffering for themselves and the people around them. Our culture is making a huge mistake by abandoning the Christian God and the Christian philosophy that our culture is built upon.

I disagree on the Christian part. I think it had various strengths, but it's time to move on from theology while still keeping the virtues alive. The fact is, typical bad behaviors like narcissism, vanity, gluttony objectively make you a worse, less-likeable person and you don't need a deity to see that.
