I will not use an application that has a shaking donate button.
It’s a goy shame waggle and I do not like that.

>130gb rips of lord of the rings

wild

What's funny is those 4k LotR rips barely look better than the 1080p Blurays since all they did with DNR the fuck out of the 2k DIs. If it wasn't for the horrid color correction on the old Bluray EEs then there would be no reason to bother with them.

UHD blurays are big

>have to actually install it, instead of just unpacking the innosetup installer
>adds a service
FUUUUUUUUUUUUU

wtf
return of the king was 4 hours and 30 minutes long

spread those cheeks

That's delusional.

The 1080p extended edition blurays have a completely different color grading from the original theatrical (and VHS/DVD) releases.

The UHD bluray release FIXES the color grading problems, AND is just much higher resolution.

It's 35mm film that was rescanned at 4k, it's not some digital upscale from 2k. There is a lot more texture details, skin, clothing, walls, grass, etc.

The only real downside is the higher resolution makes it more obvious how low res the CGI rendering is.

Odds are you watched the UHD blurays on a 65" TV from 10 feet away and don't understand why the resolution doesn't look any better than 1080p on the same screen at the same viewing distance.

Giant waste of space

see Yes they fixed the color but you might as well download a 1080p rip of them.

oh fuck this is good

>using screenshots that are using tonmapped HDR colors in windows

nigger, you don't know what you're doing.

You need to watch it on an HDR capable display.

HDR doesn't remove detail from excessive DNR

neither does cherry-picking the worst example negate the increased resolution detail, especially in any sort of close up in-focus shots.

It's not really cherry picked but okay

Here's a ton of examples in this video including close ups

>hey do you want to netflix and chill?
>even better, I have HDR movies downloaded
>ummm ok
...10 minutes later...
>wow you can see the original pores on this goblin
>ok i'm gonna go to chad's house now, bye

nigga, I have all 3, and have watched through them MULTIPLE times on 65" C1 OLED with an Nvidia Shield TV pro and a proper Dolby Atmos surround sound system.

I've ALSO watched them in their normal bluray on the exact same home theater setup.

I'll take the UHD versions every single time.
