I tried using a 12-mini for a full year for nostalgia and 2000s/early 2010s feelings. The battery is god awful, and screen is far too tiny to be used as a daily driver. I promptly switch to a 13 pro max the next year.

Yeah the battery for the 12 mini was glaringly bad. Even someone who's a minimalist who just uses it for navigation and emails and wen browsing will beg for a charger by the end of the day. I didn't try the 13 mini but I don't imagine that it got any better.

Truth is smaller phone (under 6 inches) with 16:9 aspect ratio are the best of everything, you can literally touch everwhere on the screen with your thumb, navigation was so easy and fun one-handed
