i've never seen that model before. Although, i've always been more of a fan of the classic models.

I've never heard of that brand, looks vintage

I'm with you, OP's fingerbox is souless. Handcrafting fingerboxes are what creates such a wonderful piece. I remember my grandfather telling me that he used to be extremely well of throughout his life due to him being a fingerbox artisan. But later in his life he struggled due to mass production of what is supposed to be beautiful work of art. He eventually had to sell even his own collection to pay for the bills, it's a shame really. I would have loved to see his collection, he had around 240. Once he told me this story I bought him a handcrafted fingerbox for Christmas every year, it became sort of a family tradition. Unfortunately he passed in 2014 from a heart attack, I miss him a lot. RIP Grandpa Paul.

>tfw found fingerboxes for sale on facebook

tex mcgrath had those a couple years back, but they’re probably sold out.

what the fuck is a finger box

newfag

Isn't that the Chinese bootleg that caused the accidents?

Hello Summerfag.

Pretty sure. The shitty molds caused a bunch of injuries.

Nice smooth hand crafted wood is both more attractive and safer. The extra cost is worth it.

>made in china
Soulless. Classic wooden ones are better. Japanese and sweden ones are the GOAT

German fingerboxes are nice too, but I have had a few rich have a rough finish which leads to uncomfortability.

Japanese for sure. Ay-O fingerboxes are still the best quality ever. I remember getting mine for my birthday when I was 5. I still have it and use it regularly.

Absolutely, I actually went and saw this prototype in person at a fingerbox show. It's a 1964 prototype for the model A.

are finger boxes cool again??

Cheap plastic crap. Stop being poor.

What do you mean AGAIN. They were never not.

Nice proof of concept! So this was before he added the rim refinements?

I remember the rumor's of the Chinese ones having razor blades inside, I don't know if that was ever confirmed

i got mine from the backrooms after sucking a turd from andy sixx's asshole.

damn I still wish I had mine, but had to sell it for gas a while back. Thinking of getting into the market again though, what should I look out for now?

Virgin detected.

Don't order them online, go to a fingerbox craft fair. That's your best chance of getting a properly hand crafted one affordably. And make sure it properly has the rounded edges rather than just lightly sanded or it won't fit right.

Sure, nordics craftmanship is amazing, but Germany endured a lot of crisis and changes that affected their fingerboxes

German empire fingerboxes were unique.

I got mine when I went to Japan. The color of the wood, the weight, the smell, how it feels, everything in it really has zen vibes, Comfy af.
