A few months ago, I stupidly called across the country (because I planned on moving soon) asking police/sheriff stations what was considered sexual contact with a minor.
I'm dating (with parental permission) a 13 year old girl and I'm 23...I mentioned that in all calls I made.
I got a visit from police at my house about 2 months ago and I told them I'm not letting them in and they said that they wanted to look around my house and ask me questions. I shut the door.
That same day, a girl detective asked me to call her and meet up with her. She also called a friend of mine who lives with me which was weird how she got his number...I assume because we both have same phone billing address.
Now, 2 months later, I get a call from a detective local to me asking me to meet at the station.
2 months later, she called me TODAY asking to meet up next week.
I lied and told her I'm in Hollywood and she said she'd be willing to drive an hour to meet with me at the Hollywood police station. I just said I'll call her back.
Is this fucking normal for a detective to want to drive so far for a meeting and why would she call TWO whole fucking months later????
What should I do? Leave her a voicemail telling her I invoke the 5th and won't meet? Should I ignore her? Please help.
Dude, I did t explicitly say I had sex either her.
I only asked what would be OK sexually with her. Any mention of past sex activity I always made sure to say "hypothetically".
Ie. "Hypothetically, if I did anything sexual with her could I get in trouble if she consented and her parents were OK with it? Again, just a hypothetical."
I was also drunk af those few days I called so I thought it was a good idea to ask like a dumbass.

They don't think you're actually dating a 13 year old, they're pissed because they think you're a perv who called them up and told them he was dating a 13 year to get some weird sexual thrill. So they're coming after you for wasting their time. Tell them to produce a warrant or stop harassing you and maybe let slip that you know a good attorney.

TLDR
It’s legal to date a minor as long as there is absolutely no sexual activity. Though, be careful because if the 13 or parents say you did “something sexual” to the minor. This is gonna be a very difficult court case for you.

Not really much else. All I can say is that if you do go to court, the judge is most likely going to favor the minor and her parents rather than you. Even if you have the best lawyer to ever live. The odds are definitely against you here user. Don’t mean to scare you, but that’s the reality of it

If this is genuine then you should just go full pedophile and find a pre-pubescent girl, because for the sake of the gene pool we should never let you anywhere near someone old enough to breed.
And the answer to "what level of sexual contact is permissible with a minor" is none at all. Zero. Nada. Zip. Legally, at least, I make no judgement on the morality. Prosecutors can construe basically anything as sexual assault these days, and they wouldn't have any trouble convincing a jury to convict you of something. No one will believe anyone dating a 13 year old was doing so entirely innocently.
