Why is AVX-512 enabled only if I disable the e-cores?
Adrian Nelson
new microcode updates disable it completely
Kayden Reed
tl;dr: Windows scheduler is too stupid.
AVX512 is not supported on the gracemont e-cores. The proper solution would be for threads (or processes) to specify their preference or requirements and then the scheduler only schedules execution on those cores that support those preferences/requirements (I believe Apple does this with their hardware now). In the absence of that feature, features that are unsupported in some cores must be disabled in the other cores so that there is functional parity between between all the cores and the dumb scheduler doesn't have to worry about scheduling threads on cores that don't support the missing features

What resolution? _

aight sounds dumb, not that demon souls seemed to need it

Most probably 1080p, I don't plan on 4k gaming
Jonathan King
Do 1440p
William Rivera
Ok, I guess I can... so is the 3070 overkill for 1440p, or will 3060ti be enough?
Cooper Evans
i think the arctic silver 5 i used on my gpu has reacted with the heatsink. weird.
green, blue and red PCBs look better. it's just an objective fact.

>AVX-512 who cares
Jack James
Either will be fine, if you can get a 3070 then that'll be fine if the price is fine. If you can afford to wait until the next series of cards are out, a 4070 would be amazing.
Camden Morris
At 1080p it's pretty overkill. As would be a 3060Ti. That is, unless you want to go all in on RT in the fanciest modern games. At 1440p the 3070 is considered the standard for high refresh and is capable of doing max graphics with DLSS too (DLSS is less usable at 1080p). The 3060Ti is more of a budget option at that resolution. Still plenty capable but you'll need to do more settings tuning. My opinion, for casual gaming, is that no more than a 3060 is necessary at 1080p and a 3060Ti would be fine for 1440p. Yes it's weird that they're only "one step" apart but Nvidia decided to make the 3060Ti about 20% faster than the 3060 for some reason.

Does it make a difference? Besides you won't see it under your cpu cooler.
Jeremiah Murphy
Apparently all AMD shills are going bananas over it as an added value to their new overpriced platform
Asher Watson
you only see the CPU PCB when there's not heatsink or water block on it. Tell me, how often do you look at your CPU PCB?
Eli Hernandez
WHY IS IT NOT BLUE? ISN'T INTEL BLUE TEAM? WHY THE FUCK IS IT NOT BLUE THEN? DOES NVIDIA NOT USE GREEN? AMD IS RED RIGHT? AT LEAST AMD CAN DO THAT RIGHT RIGHT?
Juan Howard
september is almost over and gpu prices still haven't dropped what gives

Quality 550W+ PSUs for less than $80? Do cheap full modular ones even exist? This piece of shit for example is #2 best seller so that's not a reliable metric at all. youtube.com/watch?v=60jVEwq44ZU
