the idea that parents can be involved in setting the agenda at a school is a good example of how fucked the united states is. we have an education department, its a branch of government and it's made up of expert teachers. their politics are irrelevant

I was in probably the best district in my state, or among the best, I had a grand total of 3 good teachers,

1 - she hated me because I moved in half way though a year
2 - 100% flake,
3 - nither good nor bad
4 - again neither good nor bad
5 - was only good for one subject
6 - all 4 were crap
7 - all 5 main ones were bad, with 2 being actually malicious
8 - again all 5 were crap
9-12 - only the social studies 11 teacher was any good, the other 2 good ones were non core subjects.

at the very least I was in school under democrats during high school so the redieric about politics was not in the forefront.

but we have all kinds of videos about teachers turning students into activists, trying to convince them they are gay, trans, that all the white kids are inherently racist. as far as i'm concerned we should incentivize homeschooling with public activities for kids rather than sending them to school, given homeschooling tends to turn out FAR better at least grade wise than schools.

Teachers answer them the best they can, and sometimes teachers are a bit cringe. Not all of them are going to handle those conversations well, and I doubt teachers at private schools are gonna be any better
