To look at 404d posts, revisit old memories, Search about a topic you can't find on the catalogue and the same reason you'd use a Search engine. What type of question is this?

probably only the frontend is on matinance, the archiving stack still running

makes sense because the frontend for archived content does much heavier work than the backend
