> The fracture has already been fixed by surgeons however a new complication came up: A sepsis due to bacteria in his blood caused by the open penetrative wound.
> The doctors started an empirical antibiotic therapy with Gentamicin and Ciprofloxacin because Corey is unfortunately allergic against Vancomycin, the first line therapy.
> They suspect the strain currently growing inside Coreys blood is S. Aureus although it might also be Haemophilus.
> They started IV antibiosis.
> Also Corey is currently receiving intravenous Midazolam for sedation and Norepinephrine to stabilize thim hemodynamically.
> Currently Corey is no longer conscious after his blood pressure dropped rapidly.
He has been moved to intensive care unit for critically ill patients.

> Corey Harrison has been spotted in the trauma center of UMC. > Corey has reportedly had a biking accident.
> He was flung of his bike which he said he was testing for his Pawn shop. However the bike severely malfunctioned and this led to the tragic accident.
> When Corey was thrown off the bike at high speed and hit exhaust pipe of a parked motorbike at a steep angle and it penetrated his lower abdomen.
> Promptly Corey was administerd to the UMC trauma center.
> The foreign body has been removed but after a PET-CT SCAN it was revealed Corey suffered from diffuse pelvic trauma with severe bleeding.
> Emergency surgery has been performed by experts for urology. > The surgeons detected a much dreaded illness: A Fourier’s Gangrene. > The infection spread when germs entered Coreys body during the traumatic accident.
> Physicians started therapy immediately. They administered Ceftriaxon and Meropenem to control the raging infection.
> However this approach was not immediately successful. > Coreys vital signs did not improve but in fact they deteriorated.
> His blood pressure went below 80mmHg systolically which is why Norepinephrine and Epinephrine had to be administered together with intravenous fluids (Ringer lactate). > Furthermore Corey is receiving Oxycodon and Propofol to control the pain. Therefore Corey is currently no longer conscious.
