You are joking, right?
Shit doesn't last on high-density discs.

Just imagine scrolling through your mp3s on your car's stereo with this bad boy on deck

If this is fast and doesn’t sound like a jet engine I might give it a shot
I do this already with my 1TB SD card
It runs out rather quickly because I use FLAC

Meh. Come back when it's in retail stores.
Most new PCs don't even have an optical drive anymore.
neat but it's never going to happen
A properly stored HDD has a much higher change of surviving than a properly stored optical disc.
Sony can already do ~256GB per disc per side, so about 500GB per disc if using a double-sided disc.
That's what they use for the Archival disc cartridges. 5.5TB over 11 discs at 500GB per disc.

May as well delete all your shit now.
Their 14TB drives seem to be kinda garbage, but even then it's still less than 5% failure rate (which is high, but hardly something i'd avoid 100%)
If you have good data keep practices a single drive failure should mean nothing to you anyway, it has a 5 year warranty so just get a new one when/if it dies.
