Everyone with a casual interest in the case is convinced he’s either going to a mental institution or will be found incompetent to stand trial.

He's going before a grand jury, which means he probably hasn't been found unfit to stand trial, which means he's either pleading out, or he's going to trial. Either way, it's going to be a felony sex crime conviction.
But you can be found unfit to stand trial, which is, I think, what most people were thinking was going to happen, and it's a far looser standard. Basically, if you're too delusional to understand that you don't cure cancer and shit glitter, you might not be in a competent mental state to defend yourself in a court of law, and you go to the hospital until you get treated enough to be released, at which point they can continue with the legal process if they decide to.

At this point, it looks like he's going to be either doing a plea deal that includes time served and a lengthy probation or else they're going to try and take him to court to make an example out of him. He's in a pretty conservative state, so some judge might want to get famous by sentencing the ultra-famous tranny autist elderly mother-raping webcomic creator to the maximum sentence so he can win his next election.

He's an absolute retard but we all know he knew what he was doing, and a grand jury likely will, too, and will proceed. To the chagrin of the court who don't even want to deal with it.

That's if they offer one. In his most recent letter he’s raging that he can’t go home because there’s a restraining order against him, so he’s talking about how if Barb died he’d be okay with it, and if she doesn’t die she needs to be taken into care, and if she’s not taken into care he will threaten her with criminal charges for killing their pets and emotionally abusing him, and currently he’s trying to raise money to buy the house from the bank
