Sit down for a while and think about what you actually want from life in terms of long term and mid term goals. Then break down the goals into the according steps that need to be take to reach them. Break down the first step further until it is obvious what you gotta do. Then set a date on when it has to be done. Then start.

I did this in the past. But how do you stay consistent? How do you motivate to keep going every day without losing your focus?

I'm not the guy you were replying to, but he's spot on - for me, consistency came when I started doing some serious self reflection. I always kinda struggled with derealization and compartmentalizing my feelings and opinions from being in a constant state of paranoia and 'survival mode' that came with an abusive childhood.
I didn't think of myself as a living person. I felt more like a robot. I wasn't allowed to have my own opinions or feelings on anything growing up because I was trained to associate these with harsh consequences.
So I had a hard time with hygiene and social settings where people are aware of themselves, their actions, and how they present themselves. These aren't things I needed at home so they felt unimportant to survival.
It's been almost 8 years since I got out of that mess and it's been a long journey.

I've learned that routine is key. Tiny incremental success IS success. Worried your routine is useless and isn't actually benefitting you? Document that shit. There are tons of free programs that will turn your data into charts and visual guides to SHOW you your progress. Progress is my biggest motivator lol

Right after my grand escape, I found social media and kept seeing posts from old folks who harped about how you've only got one set of adult teeth and the dentist hasn't ever exactly my favorite place to go, so I just decided one day that I'm going to keep my teeth as close to perfect as I can.

With small tasks like brushing my teeth after I wake up and before I go to bed, with mouthwash sometime during the day I started out super slow. I rewarded myself with expensive electric toothbrushes and fancy floss picks.

I'm super average looking but as I started getting compliments on my smile, it was over. I was obsessed with getting praise and compliments - things I've never had my whole life. I gained so much fucking self respect and pride it was unreal. I ride this high every day. Love you OP, you can do it buddy

Why are yellowfags so fixated on images of things meditating? This was the entire aesthetic of an anti-porn app on the App Store I saw recently. They love the superficial appearance of happiness and peace, or positive emotions in general, presumably because internally they feel nothing but turmoil and unloved emptiness inside and need to give this incredibly shallow appearance of positivity. It's incredibly sad.

There are many ways to start but its up to you to continue it. What would you say is something you dislike about yourself? Often times its the things we dislike that need the most fixing to remove the barrier keeping us from happiness.
