First see if the breaker has tag descriptions for that aread. I'm guessing basement. Plug like your phone charger and phone to that outlet. Turn off a circuit breaker. Go check if phone charger is still charging your phone. Check the other socket for confirmation. Then open the outlets plate. Take a bunch of pictures with your phone of how it's wired inside and which part of each wire goes to what side of the outlet and how much wire is exposed outside of the wire jacket. Unscrew wires, unmount outlet receptacle. Shorten the AC wires, gently cut the now shortened wire jacket to exposed wires without cutting too deep i to the wire itself. Look at the pics you took and copy the wire setup. Remount outlet receptacle. Secure the wires to the outlet terminals that's on the sides. MAKE SURE THE WIRES ARE NOT TOUCHING EACHOTHER WHEN YOU TIGHTEN THE WIRES TO THE TERMINALS. Screw the plate back. Turn on the circuit breaker. If nothing sparks, turn off circuit breaker again. This time plug phone charger and phone. Turn on circuit breaker again. Phone should start charging. You're finished. Well done user.
