I understand all the reasons how this movie and part 2 is shit but stupid scare jumps, women or no plot aside
isn't the sole concept of weird human like creatures living inside caves the best plot for a curious horror movie
you just make it somehow work with science and the more depth you add to these creatures, more realism the more horrific it would seem to live with the thought that all we do in this world is mate, kill for food and fill any free time with distractions
In that movie though, they were entirely one dimensional trash mobs.
Aiden Watson
at least in part 2 they showed how they shit what an improvement
aaaa I will write a book that takes this concept eventually cause it's so shit I can't sleep a day without thinking about it ever since I watched it again few days ago because I couldn't find ever since I was a kid
Cameron Green
I always get The Descent and The Cave confused but I liked both honestly. Neither are the most groundbreaking movies ever but I always enjoy watching them. The creatures are cool and are basically Falmer from Skyrim which is neat. As you said, the idea of early human getting stuck in caves and completley adapting to complete darkness is a creepy idea. It reminds me of all the folklore I heard growing up in Europe.
Caleb Reyes
trapped would be a stretch would work if it was a gollum type of angle where it's not realistic maybe if someone else lets say kept them there for saddistic purposes then you can fantasize about how they mate socialize how they cannibalise each other how they hate humans and stuff
otherwise some guy pointed it on the right track where these could be the ppl that just decided to live in caves and they had to stay there for reasons and they slowely turned to these creatures the things the habbits the pain the sufferings the point where people try to cage them and experiment on how human they are all these things would be so watchable
oh well I will watch the cave then
Landon Perry
or lets just do it irl for few millions of year lets lock subhumans in cave beaten to near death with only wild animals to eat and other similar people to breed with no light and no spark of hope to escape the hell and stream in inflared how they do this could actually be better than jail but whose fate deserves to be like that what's the crime for this harm
Daniel Anderson
>what's the crime for this harm It is a waste of resources. If we invest in troggs, we should use them for slavery.
David Brown
Having weird things in your "cave" is an ancient human fear hehehe
Hunter Brooks
That movie is good but you have to watch it with the original UK ending, not the pussy censored American ending.
Samuel Mitchell
Why does there need to be a backstory on why those things exist? Them existing should be a mystery that’ll keep the viewer creeped out the whole time.
John Stewart
true but entertainment increases productivity and these would be people that won't wanna die but won't wanna work
to be in the most beautiful as well as the least achieveble cave is the most pleasurable human achievement ancient people knew...
Oliver Ortiz
Yeah, but not having an reasonable answer to 'the mystery ' would be bullshit.
Jack Martinez
>but won't wanna work We could hit them.
Chase Jones
this is also a good point but in the movie at least from what I felt they tried to force the idea of them being trapped miners/humans at one point one of the woman said... but this isn't important the ending of part 2... maybe?
maybe if they were slightly less human like idk I become nerd the destroyer of myself can't watch anything if it's not logical in realistic or a fantasy world kind of way
Jonathan Jenkins
my bad I feel again like the best kid at math in my class (not that smart class but still) getting something obvious wrong and getting corrected by another person for comical purposes the stupid kid in the class how it usually was the live at its ironic finest
Gavin Collins
No it wouldn’t what do you want a science experiment? A disease? That’s boring
Austin Rogers
Unless the movie tries to portray realism I don’t see why you would try to find logic. Why would you complain that some gun scene isn’t realistic cause the guy doesn’t run out of bullets yet are fine with 1 protagonist killing like 10 guys
Michael Walker
I always sort of assumed it was a small group of early humans (maybe Neanderthals or something) got trapped in a cave in for at least one generation. Then even when they found a way out they chose to stay in the darkness and slowly adapt to living subterraneanly. I definitely recommend The Cave (2005), especially if you liked The Descent. The Cave always creeped me the fuck out when I was a kid.
Lincoln Williams
Because if they didn't put at least something people would be pissed it didn't get explained. I agree that just leaving the mystery is much better, but most people want them explained even if it ruins the story. I mean, look at what they did to Lost. I remember the mystery of that show being so fucking interesting, but they totally ruined it by explained everything.
Nolan Harris
I said it previously if it would be realistic it would be more curious to me if they want to make it unrealistic they still could make them way better
also the ending if part 2 went for the guy wants to keep them save
ez realistic fix: he likes nature and he know they will suffer a lot if they will be discovered but then he kinda wanted random ppl to be eaten by them but maybe they deserved it in his eyes idk
unrealistic fix: these are his relatives his tribe found them be hurt by sun and ever after they helped them by bringing in food
Jacob Wright
my bad no explanation what's so ever would be good like starwars when they explained the force good thing I never was into that cause rip starwars these days
Brayden Brown
Yeah, that helps the smart math kid understand when to keep his mouth shut around superior people later in life
Robert Taylor
>no explanation what's so ever would be good I agree. Explaining too much completely destroys all the mystery.
